Shain is an accomplished attorney licensed to practice in Utah and Nevada, as well as in the Federal District Courts of Utah and Nevada, with a passion for litigation and a proven track record in the courtroom. My academic journey began at Southern Utah University, followed by law school at the University of Oklahoma, where I distinguished myself as a Dean’s List student, merit scholar, and member of Phi Delta Phi. During my time in law school, I served as President of both the Moot Court Society and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, honing my skills in advocacy and leadership. As a trial-tested litigator, I have successfully led numerous jury trials across multiple counties in Nevada and Utah, including a notable case in Utah Federal Court. My experience spans a wide range of cases, from murder, rape, and violent allegations to non-violent crimes, and I take pride in securing acquittals for my clients, including a high-stakes case that spared my client from over a million dollars in restitution.
Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to public defense, a role that has allowed me to try more cases than most attorneys and fueled my drive as a litigator. My dedication to the field has earned me recognition as a Top 10 Criminal Defense Attorney in Utah, one of the 10 Best Criminal Law Attorneys, and a Top 40 Under 40 in criminal defense. In addition to my trial work, I spent several years with the State Bar of Nevada, where I guided attorneys in maintaining ethical practices and enforced accountability by disciplining those who violated professional conduct rules.
